We welcome visitors to the cellar door at Nutbourne all year round, to wander through the vines along our vineyard trail and take in views of the South Downs from the windmill balcony. We are currently open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. In Winter you can share a bottle from our range of still and sparkling or buy wine to take away and enjoy at home.
From Easter weekend we will also be open on Saturdays. Wine is available by the glass every day and you can prebook a picnic or platter to share. On Saturdays from May to September, book to join a tour of the vineyard and winery with guided tasting. Friday evening lates are for Sundowners in the wine lodge, with Burgers & Bubbly on the first Friday of every month.
Vineyard Trail
Currently Open – Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm – Free of charge
Follow our self-guided trail around the vines to discover how we grow grapes and explore special little spots throughout the vineyard. Look out for the vine quiz on our information signs, bio-diverse wild strips promoting insect and bird life and an ancient oak sculpture in pride of place amongst the vines. The Windmill, Viewing Platform and Wine Lodge are great locations to enjoy views of the South Downs. Our veranda Cellar Door is open to buy wine to take home.
In Winter we suggest you bring suitable footwear as it is muddy in the vines.
Vineyard Picnics & Platters
Book Now – From Easter weekend, Monday to Saturday – From £18.50
Delicious homemade picnics and platters made with seasonal Sussex produce from our family farm to complement our wines. After a tour or a wander through the vines, collect from our cellar door then sip and graze on our platform with breathtaking views of the South Downs. There is plenty of covered and outdoor seating (although you are welcome to bring a picnic blanket to sit among the vines). Add a bottle when you prebook, or choose from our range of still and sparkling when you visit. A selection of our wines are available by the glass.

Vineyard & Winery Tours with Tastings
Book Now – Saturdays May to September – £32 per Person
On Saturdays from May to September we offer a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, followed by a tasting of our still and sparkling wines. We begin with tea, coffee and homemade cakes, as you take in our stunning views of the South Downs, before a walk through the vines, wild flowers and down to the lakeside to meet the alpacas, with stops along the way for anecdotes and photographs. Heading into the winery for a refreshing glass, we look at each step of the wine making process. We then return to the Wine Lodge for a tutored tasting and discussion.

Burgers & Bubbly
Book Now – Bank Holidays & Every First Friday in the Summer Months – £48 for Two
Bank Holidays and the first Friday of the month are a chance to enjoy Gregory Gladwin’s mouthwatering beef burgers, paired with sparkling wine and music wafting through the vines. Pre-book your place to enjoy these idyllic summer evenings at the wine lodge. The burgers are made with our own Sussex-reared beef, cooked in the vinewood-fired oven and served in brioche buns with local tomatoes and salad. Chocolate Tiffin and Vineyard Platters are also available on the night.
The bubbly: Nutty Wild is a classic bottle fermented sparkler – a joyous dry wine with an abundance of wild strawberries and a citrus tang. Our range of still and sparkling wines are also on pour from the Nutty Bar.

A limited number of Sussex Blue Mushroom Burgers are also available as a vegetarian option. Tickets are simply allotted times for food service, so you are welcome to stay at your table and enjoy the atmosphere.
