Vintage 2024: Harvest Report

Vintage 2024: Harvest Report

22/10/2024 Off By Vineyard Team

A Late Harvest

Every year, the Gladwins gather at our family vineyard in West Sussex to harvest the ripe fruit and make a new vintage of our delicious wines. Bridget Gladwin leads the pickers out in the vines, Oliver and Richard Gladwin come down from London to help Peter Gladwin pick up the crates and Gregory Gladwin runs the winery. This year, Lizzie, Lucinda and Lani Gladwin also joined the team to help to bring in the crop.

The hand picking started three weeks later than usual – working our way along the rows of vines, we finished on 24th October. Once the full crates of green, pink and red grapes from across the estate have been taken by tractor to the winery, we can immediately start pressing them to make the delicious juice that will become this year’s vintage and the wonderful still and sparkling wines that we serve from our cellar door and at our Local & Wild restaurants across London.
