Tours and Private Events
We have had a busy summer so far with lots of vineyard and winery work, as well as having a busy period with tours and private events.
Hosting tours at the vineyard is such fun at the vineyard as we love sharing with people what we do here, and everything involved from the vineyard to the winery to produce an amazing bottle of wine.
The tour starts at the very beginning in the vineyard where we talk about site selection and planting, to then find out more about all different ways of growing our different varieties. Once we have taken in the beautiful views of the vineyard over looking the South Downs we head over to our winery.
The winery is only 9 years old and is now an integral part of our operations. We take you through the first moment the grapes are pressed, to being bottled, to then being labelled and packed away for us to enjoy.
We then sit down for a tasting in either our wine lodge or windmill, where we will get to try a selection of our still and sparkling wines, all very unique and different, but a brilliant reflection of England’s ability to grow grapes and make good quality wine.
The greatest part of the tours for us are the questions we’re asked. No question is too silly, and it really gets us thinking. We love that people engage so well with what we do and believe in, and that they want to learn more.
This year we have seen even more popularity grow for our private catered meals, where you will experience the full tour, but then also sit down and enjoy a delicious meal cooked on our vine wood-fired oven. The tables are set up in our wine lodge, with fresh flowers picked from the hedgerow. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate, and the meals always turn out to be a very special occasion.
